MCSC Officials can contact the Meet Referee to let them know they will be attending to officiate or may sign up at the meet.
                             
Timer Instructions:                            
When you arrive at the meet, find the 1st timer to check in. Find and introduce yourself to the timer in front and behind you on the list.
Assuming 30 minute timing assignments for these instructions, When the 1st event begins, count out 30 minutes for each volunteer to determine when you will time.
Go to relieve the volunteer in front of you on the list a few minutes early.
The watches have 3 buttons, the button on the right is to start and stop the watch. The button on the left is to reset the watch.
At the start of a heat, look for the Meet Referee and Starter, who starts each heat. When you hear the “start sound” and/or see the “start strobe”, start your watch. At the end of an event, lean over and stop your watch when you see any part of the swimmer touch the wall. Usually it's a hand, but sometimes on the backstroke, it may be the swimmers head. One timer will have a clipboard to record the times from both watches. Using the names off of the heat sheets on the clipboard, the timer also checks the swimmers in line to see that the swimmers are in the correct lane. The other timer will also hold a “plunger”, which you hold in one hand and press at the finish with your thumb  while stopping your watch  in your other hand.          
If we're using an MCSC watch, the last timer should return the MCSC watch to a coach or to Jeff.
