Brian Stiles set 5 of 6 Personal Best Times in capturing his 5
first place finishes and a 2nd while Leanne Zaug followed
up with 2 1st place finishes of her own, both setting team
records, but it was the effort of our youngest competitors that set
the stage each day of the meet for the MCSC.
The Women's 10 & Under team followed up their Saturday 1st
place relay with a dramatic 1st event, 1st
place in the W10&U 200 Medley Relay on Sunday. Ahlmeyer set a
Personal Best and Silver Time of 42.04 in the 50 Backstroke to start
off the medley. Although she dropped 1.41 seconds off her best time,
a fast Cougar Aquatics team took the lead after the first leg of the
relay. Trinco followed up in the Breaststroke with a 43.20. Trinco
finished her leg strong to keep in sight of the lead team from CAT.
Hopf began closing the gap in the first 25 of her Fly leg and then
set a blistering pace coming home to take the lead, for the MCSC,
finishing the Fly with a 31.78. Demirel took off with a body length
lead in the Freestyle, though the tenacious CAT team cut the lead to
half a body length at the turn. Demirel swept through her turn,
pouncing off the wall, to increase her lead back to a body length and
charged to the finish with a team 2:29.40, winning the event by 0.68
seconds.
On Saturday,the M11-12 200 Freestyle Relay earned 1st
place with a dramatic win of their own. Viotto turned in a 29.51,
Ulrich 28.14, Kenworthy 33.09 and Linz finishing in a 27.74 to
combine for a team 1:58.48 to earn a 0.42 second victory over a team
from North Jersey Bluestreaks.
In the middle session on Saturday, the M10&U 200 Freestyle
Relay team of Michael Stiles 33.09, Jonathon Masukewicz 36.52, Matt
Finkelstein 32.58 and Patrick Bauer 33.41 barely missed a 1st
place finish of their own, turning in a 2nd place finish
of 2:15.60, 1-one hundredth of a second off the lead time.
The 15-19 200 Freestyle Relay team of Leanne Zaug 27.92, Aly
Slezak 29.88, Brittany Campo 29.67 and Nicole Harris 27.55 earned

Baccaglini 29.34, Allison Vilchinsky 30.96 and Jessica Stiles 26.12
