Brian Stiles set 3 Gold Times, in the 200 Free and 100 & 200 Back. Stephanie Harris earned Gold in 2 events, the 100 Free and 50 Breast. Garrett Pullis, back from and injury plagued fall, earned 2 Gold times in his 2 events, the 100 Free and 100 Back.
Stephanie Harris made her mark with 5 new MCSC records in the W9-10 50, 100 & 200 Free and 50 & 200 Breast. Courtney Good set 4 new MCSC records, beating 3 of her past times and setting the records in the W15&O 50 Free, 200 Back, 100 Breast and 100 Fly. Patrick Bauer notched new records in the M8&U 50 Back and 50 Fly. Patrick Rose set a record in the M9-10 100 Breast, Michael Stiles earned his in the M9-10 200 Breast, Juliann Stiles in the W7&U 50 Free, Garrett Pullis improved his record in the M13-14 100 Back and Carlos Guevara set the mark in the M15&O 100 Fly.
Riley Cummis, Caroline O'Boyle, Emily Thibault and Gabrielle Ferrara improved in all of their events, leading the MCSC to 174 new Best Times. There are so many to name, just head to the results and see that everyone deserves congratulations!

A One, Two Punch for Viotto & Bauer
The Morris County Swim Club
travelling to New Yorok for a pair of swim meets and Jamie Viotto
swam to 4 1st place finishes at the Holiday Madness Meet and Patrick
Bauer scored 5 2nd place finishes at the January Blitz meet.
Viotto, of Morris Township
victoies came in the M10&U 100IM in 1:20.57, 50 Fly in 35.80, 50
Free in 31.28 and the 500 Free in 6:29.70. He added to his best meet
of the season with a 2nd place in the 100 Free in 1:07.94 and a 3rd
in the 50 Back in 38.34. All finishes were Gold Times, qualifying the
swimmer for the NJ Junior Olympics to be held in March.
Bauer, of Morristown, eaned his
2nd place finishes in the M8&U 50 Free in 35.68, 50 Fly in 44.40,
100 Free in 1:21.03 , 50 Back in 42.67 and 100IM in 1:34.52. The 50
Free and Back and 100 Free times were good for 10&U Silver times,
qualifying him for the Silver Championships to be held in late
February, the last qualifying meet for the age group for the Junior
Olympics.
In all, the 50 athletes from
the MCSC produced over 300 Best Times over the 2 meets. Highlights

Goldhirsch chopped 24.49 to finish the W10&U 100 Free in 1L33.56.
Julia Hall swam to 7 Silver Times including a cut of 18.14 in the
W10&U 100 Back to 1:31.50. Caroline Hersh dropped 4.11 in the
W10&U 50 Back with a 44.94. Maddie Lapsley sliced 13.24 for a
3:01.43 W13-14 200IM. Allison Leung brought home a Silver time with a
W9-10 100 Breast in 1:47.13. Alli Remler made a Best Time in the
W10&U 50 Free in 38.79. Gabrielle Ferrara set 7 of 7 Best Times,
including a 2:50.81 W11-12 200 Free. Maggie Servais swam 7.63 better
for a 45.93 W9-10 50 Back. The Johnson brothers improved in all
events at the Madness, Jeff with 6 Best Times including a 1:39.11
M11-12 100IM and Tommy with 5 of 6 Best times over both meets,
including a 1:23.12 in the M13-14 100 Back.

Hasenbein scored 6 Silver Time finishes and a 12.86 drop in the W9-10
100IM in 1:32.19. Jackie Viotto had an 8th place finish in the W
200Fly with a 2:39.27, one of her 7 of 8 personal Best Times. Brother
Justin set 3 Best Times, including 2:04.96 n the 10&U 100IM.

Ahlmeyer slashed 17.07 in the W9-10 50 Breast to finish 55.99.
Shannon Keller took in 7 Silver Times including a 1:18.94 W10&U
100 Free. Amber Zorn took part in the Madness meet and earned 2 of 3
Best Times, including a 1:27.15 W11-12 100 Free.

Cohen took 6 Silver Times in 8 events, including a 9th place time of
33.92 W9-10 50 Free.

Harris, Pullis & Stiles Carry Gold Over
State Lines
The Morris County Swim Club traveled to
New York for a pair of swim meets and Stephanie Harris earned 4 Gold
Times, Brian Stiles snatched 3 Golds and Garrett Pullis took 2 Golds.
The Gold Times qualify the swimmers for the NJ Junior Olympics to be
held in March.
From Denville, Harris swam to Gold
finishes in the W9-10 100 Free, 50 Breast (twice) and 100 Breast. Her
100 Free time was 1:12.86, beating her old Best Time by 1.95 seconds.
In all Harris swam to 14 Best Times and 10 Silver Times over the 2
meets. The Silver Championships are the last qualifier, held in late
February, for the Junior Olympics. Harris also had 9 top-10 finishes
including a 1st place in the W10&U 50 Breast at the
Madness meet in 41.26. Stiles earned his Gold Times in the M13-14 200
Free in 2:01.11, 200 Back in 2:19.90 and 100 Back in 1:04.17. He also
picked up 9 Silver times, 17 Best Times and 10 top-10’s, including
2nd in the 200 Free at the Blitz meet.
From Boonton Township, Pullis took 2
Golds in 2 events, the M13-14 100 Free in 53.41 and 100 Back in
1:02.07. The Free finish was good for 6th Place and Back
was for 8th Place.

From Denville, Anna Baccaglini
earned 8 Silver and 6 Best Times with a 7.43 improvement in the
W11-12 100 Fly in 1:24.02. Brittany Campo had 5 Best Times, including
a 23.97 improvement in the W 200 Fly to finish 3:18.64. Nicole Harris
improved her W13-14 400IM to 5:34.36, picking up Silver in the event
and 8 others as well. Shannon Hughes picked up a Silver in the W13-14
50 Free in 28.39 and improved her times in 11 of 14 events. James
Koppelmann improved in 5 events, including a 1:01.49 M9-10 50 Breast,
better by 11.61. Caroline O’Boyle earned 6th and 9th place finishes
at the Blitz in the W8&U 50 Free in 42.13 and 50 Breast in 56.33.
Brother John swam to Bst Times in the M9-10 100 Free in 1:25.54, 50
Breast in 52.46 and 1:39.13 in the 100 Back. Cort Schroth swam to
Best Times in 5 of 6 events at the Madness meet, including a Silver
in the M 200 Free in 2:01.35. Annie Shaffer pulled in 4 Best Times at
the Madness including a 1:41.58 W13-14 100 Fly, an improvement of
26.47. Sister Molly was 2 for 3 in Best Times with a 53.57 W10&U
50 Fly, slashing 7.50. Jessica Stiles captured 10 Silver Times over
the 2 meets, including a 12.57 cut in the W11-12 200IM to 2:50.05.
Sister Juliann cut 15.47 in her W8&U 50 Free over the 2 meets
with a 45.38 at the Blitz. Brother Michael had Lucky 7’s, cutting
times in 7 events and 2 7th place finishes, a 1:49.05 M10&U 100
Breast at Madness and 3:11.78 200 Free at Blitz.
From Rockaway, Carlos Guevara
scord 4 Best Times in 5 events, with a M 100 Fly of 1:16.06, 100 Free
in 1:04.21 and 200 Back in 2:49.84 and 50 Free in 28.22. Jake
Keszthelyi improved in 5 events, including a drop of 19.56 in the
M10&U 100 Free to 1:50.49.
From Parsippany, Jason Jin grabbed 4
Best Times, including a 6.42 improvement in the M11-12 100 Free in
1:17.04 at the Blitz.

Fink’s-N-Matt’s
Fly Over State Line
The Morris County Swim Club traveled to
New York for a pair of swim meets, with members Stacy & Matt
Finkelstein and Matt Linz of Randolph setting Best Times in Fly
events and a total of 31 Best Times.
Known as “Fink1”, Stacy set 15 of
17 Best Times, including a 6:05.43 W13-14 400IM 11th place
finish, beating her old time by 44.57 seconds, taking off 10.42 to
finish the 100 Free in 1:24.63 and 5.41 from the 100 Fly to finish
1:16.98. Fink1’s 100 Fly is less than 1 second from a Silver Time.
A Silver Time qualifies swimmers for the Silver Championships to be
held at Rutgers March 1&2, the last chance to obtain a Gold Time
and entry into the NJ Swimming Junior Olympics.
Brother Matt, or “Fink2” swam to 5
of 7 Best Times including a Silver Time in the M9-10 50 Fly with a
time of 42.34, an 8th place finish. Fink2 also slashed
19.95 in the 100 Breast to finish 1:52.10. Matt Linz took in 11 of 14
Best Times, including a Silver Time in the M11-12 50 Free in 30.34.
The time is 1.3 seconds from Gold and his age groups Silver
Championships are Feb 23-24 at Newark Academy in Livingston. Linz
earned a 5th place finish in the 50 Back, taking 6.43 off
to finish 38.55 and 8th in the 100 Fly in 1:30.03.
Catherine Barrow contributed to the
clubs 300 plus Best Times with 5 of 7 Best Times over the 2 meets in
the W11-12 100IM in 1:43.48, 50 Fly in 34.28, 100 Breast in 132.14,
100 Free in 1:29.71 and 50 Back in 47.13. Ian Plum scored a Best Time
in the M9-10 100 Free in 1:44.97. Eric Rappeport earned 2 of 3 Best
Times in the M13-14 200IM in 2:48.67 and 100 Free in 1:04.26. A
skiing accident sidelined Eric for the Blitz meet, but hopes to be
back training with the MCSC soon. Lexi Krynicki picking up 4 Best
Times at the Blitz, including an improvement of 5.24 in the W13-14
200IM. Jared Rosen put together a strong performance over the 2 meets
with Best Times in 9 of 12 events. Rosen’s times were good for 5
top-10 finishes at the Blitz meet, including a 4th in the
M8&U 50 Fly, 2 5ths in the 50 & 100 Free a 6th in
the 50 Back and 7th in the 50 Breast.

A Mad Blitz for Riley
Competing for the Morris County Swim
Club, Riley Cummis of Succasunna swam to Best Times in 12 of 12
events at the Holiday Madness and January Blitz swim meets. Cummis
swam to a Best Time in the W10&U 100IM at the Madness, then
followed it up with another 10.47 improvement at the Blitz meet. Her
other Best Times came in 50 Free, Back, Breast & Fly and 100 Free
and Back events.
Also from Succasunna, teammate Hollie
Hopf charged to 11 of 15 Best Times, including 6 Silver Times. A
Silver Time qualifies swimmers for the Silver, the last chance to
obtain a Gold Time and entry into the NJ Swimming Junior Olympics.
Hopf’s Silvers came in a 6th place finish in the W9-10
50 Fly in 40.34, an 8th in the 50 Free in 34.90, 100 Free
and 100 IM events. Jessica Scillia earned a Best Time in the W13-14
100 Back, taking off 8.71 to finish 1:36.77. Brother Jonathon earned
Best Times in the M13-14 100 Back in 1:37.47 and 100 Breast in
1:44.82. Patrick Rose scored 7 of 8 Best Times, including an 8th
place Silver Time in the M9-10 100 Breast in 1:42.72 and 9th
place in the 50 Free, dropping 3.07 to finish 36.35.
