27 Top 10's at Princeton
It wasn't just temperatures breaking records in the Bronx! Courtney
Good and Charlie Trinco each earned two MCSC records at the Summer in
the Bronx Meet. Jessica Stiles and Patrick Bauer added one each and the
11 athletes at the Summer in the Bronx meet combined for 33 Best Times.

Ten swimmers from the Morris County
Swim Club came out of the pool with a cache of Silver and Gold times
at the Memorial Invitational Swim Meet held at Rutgers University May
23-24. The 27 earned Gold times qualify the swimmers for the NJ
Swimming Long Course Junior Olympics in July. Long course meets are
held at 50-meter pools, like in the Olympics. The 21 Silver times
qualify the athletes for the final qualifier leading up to the
championships. 22 of the finishes were personal Best Times and the
swimmers set 12 club records.
The coaches from the Morris County Swim
Club entered their swimmers in an early season May swim meet to give
new members an opportunity to see what events are like in a long
course pool. For returning members, it was their chance to shake out
the cobwebs and refresh their memories regarding 50-meter
competitions. The swimmers had other objectives in mind. The 24 MCSC athletes set 18 club
records and set 54 Best Times at the May Meters Matter Meet held at
the Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack, NY May 3 & 4.
April 2008
Garrett Pullis of Boonton Twp
represented NJ Swimming and the Morris County Swim Club at the US
Eastern Zone Swimming Championships held in Buffalo NY April 3 to 5,
competing in 4 events. Pullis qualified for the Zone Meet in the
M13-14 100 Butterfly at the NJ Junior Olympics held in March and NJ
Swimming also entered the athlete in 3 additional events. Pullis was
one of only a handful of Morris County athletes to qualify for the
Zone Meet. (more)

Jamie
Viotto earned "Free" Gold to lead the MCSC 11-12's at the Silver Bronze
Championship Meet and then swam a mile for more "Free" Gold at the MCSC
Tuesday Trial. The Tuesday Trial was held at CCM giving those swimmers
that were close to Gold, one final chance to go to JO's. (more)
The
big news was the Morris County Swim Club co-hosting the 13&O
Silver/Bronze Meet, but it was the swimmers that stole the show and
went the extra mile! The
swimmers made 56 Best Times including a Gold Time in the Mile (1650)
for Brian Stiles, plus 2 more, in the 400 IM and 50 Free. (more)

Hall, Fara Cohen, Hollie Hopf, Casey Hasenbein, Charlie Trinco and
Stephanie Harris combined for 2 1st Place Relays at the NJ Swimming
9-10 Silver/Bronze Championships February 23-24 at Newark Academy.
Stephanie Harris earned Gold in three distance events, the 200 Free,
200IM and 500 Free. (more)
Stacy
Finkelstein earned her first Silver Time with a 1:13.48 in the W100
Fly. Taylor MacEwen earned a Silver Time the 1st time she swam a 100
Breaststroke. Cort Schroth earned a Silver Time for the 1st MCSC
M15&O 500 Free swim. Brian Stiles earned 1st place in the M200 Back
and Jamie Viotto picked up his 1st Gold Time in the 11-12 age group
with a 2:16.55 M200 Free. (more)
In
recognition of their accomplishments, the MCSC has created special
Silver & Gold pins. When an athlete makes a Silver or Gold Time
within their Age Group, they'll receive one of these pins to
commemorate the occasion. (learn more)
Nicole
Harris, Jessica Stiles, Garrett Pullis and Brian Stiles qualified for
the Junior Age Group Championship Meet. Garrett Pullis earned Gold in
all 3 events entered for a 2nd place in the 400IM, a 4th in the 200 Fly

The Morris County Swim Club earned a recrd 22 Gold, 40 Silver and 124 Best Times at the NY Sharks Last Chance Meet. (article)

Jamie
Viotto earned 6 Gold Times and Hollie Hopf picked up her first Gold
Time at the Winter Wonderland Meet as the club swam to 90 Best Times. (article)

Viotto swam to six Gold Times in six events at the Princeton
Invitational. Brian Stiles earned 3 Gold Times and Garrett Pullis 1 in
1 event while setting a club record. There were also 45 Silver Times
set by MCSC athletes. 10 MCSC records were set including Taylor
MacEwen, in her first MCSC meet in the W11-12 50 Breast. (article)
The MCSC athletes recorded many new team records, Gold and Silver times at the Aqua Gems January Blitz Jan 4-6.
The Gold Times were set by Stephanie Harris, Garrett Pullis and Brian
Stiles and the team made 69 Silvers. New MCSC records were set by
Carlos Guevara, Garrett Pullis, Michael Stiles, Patrick Rose, Patrick
Bauer, Courtney Good, Nicole Harris, Leanne Zaug, Stephanie Harris and
Juliann Stiles. Congratulations to everyone at the meet and the 174 new

The Supplemental Stroke Clinics by Coach Al over the last two months were a big success! At each clinic, Coach Al focused on one stroke with the swimmers, going through Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and a clinic on Starts/Turns/Finishes.

Viotto led the MCSC at the 2007 Holiday Madness Meet with 6 Gold times
and 4 1st Place finishes. Team mate Stephanie Harris earned 2 Gold
times. The Gold times qualify the athletes for entry in the 2008 NJ

Vilchinsky and Jamie Viotto, the MCSC set many Best Times at the Jersey
Gator Invitational meet on November 25. Harris and Viotto set Gold
Times, qualifying them for entery at the NJ Short Course Junior

MCSC
10&U's took part in the clubs first ever dual meet. All of the
swimmers did great and thanks to all of the parent volunteers! Almost
all of our parents found out how easy and fun it is to time at meets.
Congratulations to Rachel Ahlmeyer, Natalia
Lalin, Alanna Lenihan, Brigid Lenihan and Charlie Trinco for swimming

the first invitational of the year, the Parkland Harvest Meet, the
Morris County Swim Club athletes swam to 62 Top 10 finishes, earned a

What
a great showing by 50+ swimmers and coaches on 10/13 at the Morris County Swim Clubs Swim-A-Thon 2007! It was inspiring
to see so many athletes take part in this optional practice. So many
set and then accomplished their own personal goals for the event. (artlcle)

On
the first practice of the new swim year, the MCSC presented MCSC
Recognition Towels to the swimmers that acheived NJ Short and Long
Course Junior Olympics and Zone Times. The MCSC towels are embroidered
with the athletes accomplishments each year. Their acheivements are a
reflection of the hard work and improvements that all members have
made. A goal is to have many more athletes not only earn a Recognition
Towel, but to fill theirs up with years and years of great times!.
New Member Tryouts were held Mon-Wed Sep 10-12. More than 120 swimmers asked for an evaluation. The MCSC added practice sessions, planned for more coaches on deck and made other adjustments and was able to add 70 new members to the club. With great coaching and now more great members, this will be the MCSC's best year yet!

Joining our excellent coaching staff, we have 4 new coaches joining the MCSC for the 2007-2008 swim year. The MCSC is pleased to announce that Al Ledgin, Kim Madden, Randi Smith and Tim Whelan have joined the club and will be helping Head Coach Jenn and our other MCSC coaches, Kim, Nicole, Lindsey, Katie, Meghan and Casey. Coach Al comes
to us with 25 years of experience coaching in Illinois, including
coaching senior swimmers to Olympic Trials qualifiers, a National Age
Group record in the 10&U age group and has ASCA Level IV coaching
certification. Coach Kim is a little more local; some of you know her as the Flanders Valley Head Coach. Coach Randi has been teaching lessons for 5 years and was in charge of swim lessons at the Madison Community Pool this past year. Coach Tim comes to us from the famed Rutgers Men's Swimming Program. We wish them great success with us at the MCSC! (more)

The 12&U's led the MCSC to a strong start at the Rockin' Splash meet at JFK! Matt
Ahlmeyer led the club with two 1st Place finishes and Gold times at the
meet Sunday at the JFK Rec Center in Newark. 11 of 14 12&U athletes

The
four athletes representing the MCSC at the 2007 NJ Swimming Short
Course Junior Olympics finished the season in fantastic fashion. They
swam to 26 of 28 new Best Times. (story)
The
athletes from the MCSC swam to 31 new Best Times with Garrett Pullis
earning his 13th Gold Time at the NJ Swimming 13&O Silver/Bronze
Championships. Pullis captured Gold in the 1000 Freestyle and has a
Gold Time in every event he has participated in. Alyssa Wagner, Leanne
Zaug, Ted Krajkowski, Nicole Harris and Courtney Good earned Slver
Times at the Champs Meet. Congratulation to all

At
the 11-12 Silver/Bronze Champs Meet, Matt Ahlymeyer waited until the
last day, the last event, the last heat, his last breath and in the
last possible 10th of a second, scored a Gold Time for the MCSC. While this was our only Gold Time, many
swimmers improved times at the meet.

8&Under Mini-Champs meet saw the MCSC swimmers come through with 25

Jamie Viotto and Stephanie Harris led the MCSC to great results at the 9-10 Age Group Champs Meet. Each earned a 1st Place in the 500 Freestyle. Viotto's time was good for Gold and qualified him for the NJ Swimming Short Course Junior Olympics in March. (story)

Hall January 20, 21 and 1st Place finishes by Nicole Harris, Garrett

Morris County Swim Club attended Princeton University at the X-Cel
Invitational held at deNunzio Pool. Garrett Pullis scored a 1st Place
in the M11-12 100Free. Ryan Wyer made Gold in the 200 Breast and 100
Free and Brian Stiles made Gold in the 200IM. Many athletes also picked

MCSC competed in the Distance Derby 11/18-19. The swimmers had an
excellent meet. Garrett Pullis and Brian Stiles began this seasons
Gold Rush for the MCSC, earning entry into NJ Short Course Junior
Olympics events. Many members also struck Silver! 27 of 33 athletes
earned improved times. New MCSC athletes had great first meets for the
